185: Bess Scully & Hannah Duggan, “Baby Drop Akimbo”

Episode 185: We have a really fun story today from Bess Scully, as read by her sister, Hannah Duggan. Bess is a mother, sister, aunty and daughter—and her sister Hannah is a founding member of Buntport Theater Company. These two Denver natives shared this story live on 20 February 2019. The theme of the evening was “Arms.”

A very special thanks to Knuckle Pups, who provided the outro music for this episode.

126: Erin Rollman & Hannah Duggan, “Casting a Jinx”

Today’s story was too absurd to be told by just one storyteller, so Hannah Duggan and Denver co-host Erin Rollman broke their story into two parts— chronicling their run-in with a cat-stealing witch and a novelty showerhead in Winnipeg, Canada. Hannah and Erin are founding members of Buntport Theater, the home of our Denver show, and two of our favorite people on the planet. This story was recorded live on 19 April 2017 at Buntport Theater in Denver, Colorado. The theme of the evening was “Jinx.”

Our next regular monthly shows will take place Tuesday, 13 June at Tiger! Tiger! Tavern in San Diego and Wednesday, 21 June at Buntport Theater in Denver. The theme will be “Road Trip.”

In addition to our regular monthly shows, we’re hosting a special all-refugee show at Buntport Theater on Wednesday, 31 May at 8pm. Come hear stories on the theme of “Home” and learn more about Denver refugee organizations and events in preparation for World Refugee Day in June. Click here for more details.

BUNTPORT THEATER, DENVER, 19 April 2017 at 8:00PM:

This month’s theme is “Jinx.” We’ve got our rally caps on and we haven’t changed our underwear. We’re stroking a horseshoe with a rabbit’s foot and haven’t stepped on a crack in weeks. No black cats, no $2 bills, and no broken mirrors—so you know this month is going to be good. Here’s our spell-binding lineup:

    Robert Barron
    Angela Daniels
    Sean Michael Cummings
    Hannah Duggan
    Paul Marrick
    Hannah Skewes

…and your host, Erin Rollman, referencing the number 13 at least 13 times.

The show is as free as a pinch, poke, and Coke after saying the same thing as your friend at the same time. Swanky Renegade beer and not-swanky wine available by donation.

    See you there!

82: Hannah Duggan, “What are these things?”

Today’s story comes from Hannah Duggan. Hannah is a founding member of Buntport Theater Company, which owns the amazing home of our Denver show. Every time I see her, I regret that we didn’t know each other sooner. Hannah’s story was recorded live on 21 October 2015 at Buntport Theater in Denver, Colorado. The theme of the evening was “Creeps.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Four Mile Historic Park for the Stompin’ Ground Games. It was really something special. Our next live events—which are our last two shows of 2015—will take place on 8 December in San Diego and 16 December in Denver. The theme will be “Siblings.” Hope to see you there!

Our theme music is by our friend Whalehawk (aka the Grammy-nominated musician Jake Sanders).

BUNTPORT THEATER, DENVER, 21 OCTOBER 2015 at 8:00PM:

The heebie-jeebies. The willies. The landmark pop singles by Radiohead and TLC. The shakes. The chills. The American military industrial complex. The pins and needles. The creepy-crawlies. Gamergate. The ants in your pants. The goose-flesh shivers. You get the idea. Please join us for a night filled with “Creeps,” told by our reassuringly non-creepy lineup of stellar storytellers:
