Episode 205: Your next storyteller is artist and comedian Kira MagCalen. Kira is the creator of Turbulent Flow, a digital repository for all of her creative work, including the incredible illustration that she recently made for our podcast cover art. You should find and follow her on Instagram too; Ron highly recommends checking out her “Honest Monsters” series. This was Kira’s first time sharing a story at The Narrators. Her story was recorded live on 15 January 2020; the theme of the evening was “Vision.”

Episode 201: We’re back—welcome to season 4!

Your next storyteller is Chris Garcia. Chris is a standup comedian, writer, and the host of WNYC’s Scattered, hands down one of the best podcasts of 2019. Chris shared this story—about his early days of doing standup comedy in San Francisco, enthusiastic eSport tech bros, World of Warcraft fans, and t-shirt cannons—as part of The Narrators’ special performance at High Plains Comedy Festival. His story was recorded live on 28 September 2019 at Hi-Dive in Denver; the theme of the show was “Bomb.”

Special thanks to Speedboat for the outro music in this episode.

Episode 200: Today we’re going to do something a little different—to celebrate reaching 200 episodes, we’re paying tribute to one of the people who has made all of this possible, our producer, Sydney Crain. Ron sat down with Sydney just before our live show last week, during the middle of a huge rainstorm, to ask about her favorite stories and memories from her time with the show.

In this episode, you’ll hear clips of stories from Janae Burris, Ellen K. Graham, and Steven Burge, plus a full story told by Sydney at our “Framed” show in June 2019.

Sydney also sang our outro music for this episode—it’s a clip from our special “Cover Story” show at the Underground Music Showcase earlier this summer, with Jobless on backup.

The Narrators podcast is going to take a break for the rest of 2019, so this is a great time to go digging in our archives—and as of right now, we can now say there are literally hundreds of episodes available, so go ahead, binge to your heart’s content!
