    51: Schooled, Part 1

This episode, the first of a two-part series on the theme “Schooled,” features stories from Mara Wiles and Skylar McKelvey. These stories were recorded live at Buntport Theater on September 17, 2014.

We’d like to give a special shout out to our newest sponsor, Breckenridge Brewery, who is now providing beer for our live shows. Thanks, Breck!

Our new theme music is by our friend Whalehawk (aka the Grammy-nominated musician Jake Sanders).

  • Thursday Night! The Narrators on “Two Sides to Every Story”

Our October show is going to consist of a little experiment.  We thought it might be fun to explore the nature of truth in true storytelling by looking at an age old adage, that there are two sides to every story.  We have invited pairs of storytellers to share their versions of a shared experience or story.  We’re hoping to dig into what makes a story a story, what we can learn by looking in between the gaps, etc.  It should be a hoot.  8pmat the usual haunt, Deer Pile above City O’ City in beautiful Denver, CO.

    Here’s our lineup:

    Mara Wiles and Nancy Wiles

    Jordan Doll and Christie Buchele

    Josiah Hesse and Taylor Gonda

    Mary Robertson and Robert Rutherford

This episode features two stories taken from our October 2012 show, told with aplomb and fearlessness by writer Cory Casciato and comedian Mara Wiles.  There are some wonky sound issues, but the stories are good enough that you’ll stick with ’em.

The intro and outro music was produced and graciously provided by Sans Seruf, and you can find more beats for your earholes over at bandcamp.
