Today’s story comes from one of our favorite storytellers, Arthur Salm. Arthur is the former book review editor and columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune and author of the novel Anyway. This story was recorded live on 14 March 2017 at Tiger!Tiger! Tavern in San Diego, California. The theme of the evening was “Popular.”
Spring is here and our branches are heavy with special events:
- In San Diego, we’re teaming up with the San Diego Peace Corps Association for an evening of stories about “The Toughest Job You’ll Ever Love” at 6pm on Thursday, 30 March. This show is the culmination of a storytelling workshop with returning Peace Corps volunteers led by The Narrators’ Robert Rutherford. The event takes place at Hostelling International Downtown San Diego and is free and open to the general public.
- In Denver, we’re hosting a special all-artist show at DINK, the Denver Independent Comic Expo on Saturday, 8 April at 5:15pm. The show is free with admission to the expo.
- On 11 April at 8pm, we’re hosting a fundraiser for our pals at Denver Zine Fest. Come hear stories on the theme “Firsts,” make your own first mini-zine, and get a chance to share your creation with the audience. $5-10 suggested donation.
- Our regular monthly shows for April take place on 11 April in San Diego and 19 April in Denver. Both shows start at 8pm and are free. The theme will be “Jinx.”
