92: Adam Cayton-Holland, “Ice Skating into Guantanamo”

Today’s story comes from Adam Cayton-Holland. Adam has been performing at The Narrators since the very beginning and we’re always thrilled when he’s able to share a story. He’s one-third of the comedy group The Grawlix, the masterminds behind the new hit comedy series Those Who Can’t on TruTV. This story was recorded live on 16 December 2015 at Buntport Theater in Denver, Colorado; the theme of the evening was “Siblings.”

Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Su Teatro last Sunday for our special collaboration with Stories on Stage. Standing ovations feel pretty darned good.

Our next shows will take place on 8 March 2016 at Tiger!Tiger! Tavern in San Diego and 16 March 2016 at Buntport Theater in Denver, Colorado. The theme for both shows is “Ouch” and Denver will be celebrating its sixth anniversary with a super special show starting at 7pm. Keep an eye on our Facebook page and our website for more details.

    This Wednesday in Denver: “Siblings”

BUNTPORT THEATER, DENVER, 16 DECEMBER 2015 at 8:00PM:

When you were three years old, she stranded you on the coffee table for an hour because you really truly believed that the carpet was lava. You haven’t spoken to him for 6 months because he’s entered into a really disturbing racist-like-Morrisey phase. You shared a bed when you were little and still feel a little empty when they’re gone. Tonight, for our final show of 2015, we bring you stories about “Siblings.” The cast of storytellers:

Laura Bond (Writer, Rolling Stone, Spin, Lighthouse Writers)
Adam Cayton-Holland (Comedian, “Those Who Can’t”, The Grawlix)
Steph Gustafson (Activist, retired nonprofit wizard)
Chella Negro (Singer/songwriter, Chella & The Charm)
Ellen Trachman (Attorney, Trachman Law Center)
Emma Weisfeld (The Narrators, Audible/Rooftop Media)

…and your host, Erin Rollman, the living embodiment of the imaginary sister we all daydreamed about. We’ll have beer, wine, and 2016 POSTERS (!) available for donation (CASH ONLY). See you there!
